First basketball game

Dash had his first ever organized sports team practice this weekend with his debut on the Durham Y Bayhawks basketball team. After weeks of excitement and anticipation,  the season got off to a good start until about 15 minutes in when Dash got walloped in the nose during a passing drill by a fellow Bayhawk. The ensuing meltdown was maybe not how I envisioned my tough guy's entry into the world of team sports, but the day still felt like a seminal moment in our parenting journey. I foresee many a Saturdays (and all the other days) in gyms or on fields, watching this enthusiastic dude play whatever game has captivated his interest and burns up the endless energy he seems to have.
