Bottom bunk
Since we bought the kids bunkbeds, they have spent multiple nights sharing a tiny tent on the floor of their room, and now are insisting on sleeping together in the "fort" they made in the bottom bunk. Bunkbeds are thus far not seeming like our shrewdest investment.
More at the table
The kids have started setting the table for meals more often which in general is a positive step. But it has meant some oddities at the table. Like everyone sitting on one side of the table or funny configurations of silverware. It has also meant that table settings are sometimes laid out for the non-human family members. Ella's tiny puppy doll enjoyed grilled cheese and butternut squash soup with us recently. Love Ella's paper food for her puppy.
Little stuff
I love to have fresh flowers in the house and recently my preferred bouquet spot has been in my bathroom. Fortunately every week when Josh and the kids do the grocery shopping, Ella picks out a bundle of flowers and brings it home proudly to share with me. The sight of her walking up the driveway, holding out a bouquet, with a huge smile on her face always makes me feel happy and special. It's a little thing but I hope it gives her the sense of feeling good doing something small but meaningful for someone else.
